This Week On HelloGiggles

Yesterday’s Young Adult Education post was about Imaginary Girls by Nova Ren Suma. I loved this book, and if you loved reading creepy YA classics by Lois Duncan back in the day, then you’ll love it too.

Nova Ren Suma was nice enough to tweet about my review today. My favorite part about writing for HG is interacting with the awesome community of readers, and being able to both recommend books to them and get book recommendations from them. But my second favorite part is being able to interact with the authors themselves. It’s always a great feeling to know that I was able to reach the creator of the work and let them know how important/funny/interesting/touching/whatever I found their book. It means a lot to me to be able to give even the littlest something back to the many authors who’ve improved my life (and the lives of tons of readers).

Speaking of weird and creepy YA novels, did you ever read The Woman in the Wall by Patrice Kindl? It’s about a girl so shy she literally builds out the space between the walls in her house and lives in the secret passages for years while her family forgets about her.
