About Me

Kerry 5 (1)

My name is Kerry Winfrey. I’m a lady. I’m also a morning person, a loud laugher, and a big eater. I spend almost all of my time writing or reading.

I’m the author of a book called LOVE AND OTHER ALIEN EXPERIENCES. It’s about homecoming dances, underground alien message boards, The X-Files, physics, hot brothers, falling in love, family, anxiety, and a bunch of other things. It’s contemporary YA. It was originally published by Paper Lantern Lit, but will be republished by Feiwel & Friends in Juy 2017. You can preorder it right now (here are links to do so from your preferred retailer!).

Booklist called it “a charming take on high school—the friendships, the romance, and the snubs—that also tenderly explores mental illness and the stigmas that accompany it. A sweet and funny debut.”

If you want to know more about the book, you can watch the book trailer. My brother Alex Winfrey made it and you should probably hire him to make your book trailer, too.

You can also add it on Goodreads and preorder it on Amazon.

I love romantic comedies more than almost anything, so I watched 52 of them in (almost) one year. Check out A Year of Romantic Comedies if you want to read way, way too much about Sleepless in Seattle.

I also read a lot of romance novels, so I started a Tumblr to discuss my love of them called Suburban Mom Romance Club.

I’ve written a lot about YA for HelloGiggles. You can read my column called Young Adult Education, if you’d like!

Here are a few interviews where I talk about writing, romcoms, etc.:

I found your blog by googling about how to pitch to Hello Giggles, and I’m so glad that I did. I love your writing style and cute design. Checking out your column on Hello Giggles right now!

    Hi Kerry,
Stumbled across your blog tonight after a randomly narcissistic google search (lady confession #1) and to quote the lyrical brilliance of the musical Annie, “I think I’m gonna like it here!”.
Looking forward to trawling the archives and finding some lady gold-dust.
    Cheers,
    Annette
